Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Guardrail Upgrades on Interstate 90 Near
Three Forks

Three Forks  The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal
to upgrade 8.3 miles of guardrail on Interstate 90 west of Three
Forks in Jefferson County. The project begins 1.7 miles east of the
Cardwell Interchange at reference post 257.7 and extends east for 8.3
miles, ending 1.7 miles west of the Milligan Canyon Interchange at
reference post 266.0.

Proposed work includes installation of new
compliant guardrail. The purpose of the project is to replace all
guardrail on Cottonwood Hill.

The project is tentatively scheduled
for construction in 2021, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
