of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S. Highway 93
ELMO — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to
notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about
12.0 miles of U.S. Highway 93 north of Polson in Lake County. The
project begins about 7.0 miles north of Polson at reference post (RP)
67.4 and extends northerly for approximately 12.0 miles, ending about
1.7 miles northeast of Elmo at RP 79.3.
Proposed work includes
microsurfacing (from RP 67.4 to RP 76.0), seal and cover (chip seal)
and fog seal (from RP 76.0 to RP 79.3), signing, and upgraded
pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to take a
cost-effective action to prolong and preserve the existing pavement.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019,
depending on completion of all project development activities and
availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations
will be needed.
