  • Nightwork resumes on the Missoula Concrete rehab project for the week of September 20. Crews will be working through project limits from 7 PM – 7 AM., including Friday night into early Saturday morning.
  • Within the concrete grinding closure, crews will also be installing underground electrical wires through electrical boring methods.
  • Crews will work on the sidewalks and add ADA upgrades from I-90 to Expressway to ensure access for all. The Grant Creek/I 90 west-bound on ramp lanes will also be under construction as crews reconstruct the area as well. At the intersections within this project area, crews will work on the asphalt approach tie-ins as well as the shared-use paths.
  • Drivers should plan for closures of multiple lanes. Throughout the project, both north and southbound lanes will be reduced.
  • This project is anticipated to finish by the end of 2020. By working at night, MDT aims to ease construction-related traffic congestion. However, we understand that some businesses may experience construction noise during the later hours.   • Missoula Concrete Rehab construction will again see nightwork from 7 PM to 7 AM. Crews will resume work on Sunday night and will continue work through Friday and into Saturday morning. Construction will be focused near River Road, in both directions for additional concrete grinding and joint resealing.   • The roadway concrete sections will be resealed at the intersections of Brooks and I 90. The north and southbound Grant Creek/I 90 ramps will also be under construction as crews reconstruct the area.
  • On Reserve Street, crews are resurfacing the road, restoring 5.4 miles of roadway from Brooks Street to I-90. This will extend the life of the road and keep it smooth for years to come.
  • Crews will also add ADA upgrades to the I-90 eastbound ramps, the I-90 and Reserve Street intersection, and the Expressway and Reserve Street intersection to ensure access for all.

August 30 – September 3, 2020

  • Missoula Concrete Rehab construction will again see nightwork from 7 PM to 7 AM. Construction will be focused near River Road, in both directions. Closures will be on Reserve, from Brooks to River Road on the inside lanes and median for concrete grinding. Additionally, the outside lane of Reserve Street, from River Road to I 90 will be closed while crews reseal sections of the roadway.
  • The Mullan/Reserve intersection will also have partial closures for electrical work, where closures will be taking place between Mullan Road and I 90.
  • Lastly, the sidewalks at Reserve and Expressway will see additional ADA upgrades and the median at Reserve and Grant Creek will again be closed. Grant Creek medians and turn lanes are being constructed.
  • Both north and southbound lanes will be reduced, and no work will take place for the Labor Day holiday.
  • Crews have moved staging. Grant Creek residents should hear far less construction noise for the remainder of the project.
  • Travel on Reserve Street, between Brooks Street and Interstate 90, will be limited to one-lane with a traffic signal in place during night hours. At the Grant Creek Road and Interstate 90 intersection, travel will be limited to one-lane at night with flaggers in place.

  • I-90/Grant Street/Reserve Website Update: August 9-15, 2020
    with crews working from 7 PM to 7 AM. Construction will be spread across Reserve Street, from Books to I 90.
  • Throughout the project, concrete crews will be repairing previously cracked panels. This involves tying bars through drilled holes to keep the pieces in place. Somewhat like cross-stitching when sewing.
  • Both north and southbound lanes will be reduced during night construction for additional concrete work. Traffic signals will be in place.
  • Sidewalk work and ADA upgrades at the Reserve, Expressway, and Howard Raser Drive intersections will be done throughout the week.
