Contracting & Consulting
Civil Rights: Compliance
EEO Contract Compliance
This program ensures that federal-aid highway projects valued at more than $10,000 make a "good faith effort" to assure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, religion, sex, color, disability, age, genetic information, marital status, political belief or national origin. Contractor training, EEO compliance reviews and complaint investigation assure contractor compliance.
This program ensures that Davis-Bacon wage rates and fringe benefits are paid to highway construction workers on contracts and subcontracts valued at more than $2,000. Contractor training certified, payroll monitoring and a formal complaint process assures contractor compliance.
On-the-Job Training Program
The FHWA On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program requires the Montana Department of Transportation establish training programs targeted to move women, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals into journey-level positions to ensure that a competent workforce is available to meet highway construction hiring needs, and to address the historical under-representation of these groups in highway construction skilled crafts.
