East Belgrade Interchange Project Overview

Detours on I-90 are single lane in each direction and commuters should expect delays of up to 15 minutes between the times of 7:30 and 9:00 am for East bound and between the times of 4:30 and 6:00 PM West Bound.

Construction of the East Belgrade Interchange resumed Monday, March 31. Both eastbound lanes will be detoured to the newly constructed off-ramp and on-ramps.

The East Belgrade Interchange project is located on I-90 between mile posts 298.8 and 300.2 and will extend South to the Alaska/Frontage Road and North to the Frontage Road. The project will begin August 26, 2013 and run through the early summer of 2015.

Improvements for this project will include adding a second interchange for Belgrade, direct access from the interstate to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and adding the only north and south crossing in Belgrade that will be unaffected by rail traffic. The project will also include a signalized intersection at the newly created Frontage Road, Gallatin Field Road and Alaska Road intersection as well as safety improvements along Frontage Road which includes re-grading the borrow pits adjacent to the project, widening, road shoulders and sidewalks in addition to other pedestrian improvements along Frontage Road and the newly connected Alaska Road.
