Project Overview
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is currently designing Bench Boulevard for its reconstruction from Lincoln Lane to the intersection of Bench Boulevard with Hwy 312 and Hwy 87. The project design is being completed in two phases, and the construction will likely occur in at least two phases. Phase I extends approximately 0.8 miles from Lincoln Lane to slightly north of Hilltop Road/Yellowstone River Road, and Phase II extends approximately 2.0 miles from just north of Hilltop Road/Yellowstone River Road to the intersection of Bench Boulevard with Hwy 312 and Hwy 87.
The Hilltop Road intersection will be rebuilt during Phase I as a single-lane roundabout. The Hwy 312/Hwy 87 intersection will be reconstructed as part of Phase II as a traffic signal. The proposed street improvements include one travel lane in each direction, a center turn lane, curb and gutter, continuous sidewalk on both sides, intermittent lighting, low-level landscaping, and intermittent on-street parking (north of Hilltop Road).
This project will reconstruct approximately 2.8 miles of Bench Boulevard.
