Gardiner - Guardrail Upgrades Proposed On U.S. Highway 89

Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Guardrail Upgrades on U.S. Highway 89 Near
Gardiner

Gardiner  The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
upgrade 7.6 miles of guardrail on U.S. Highway 89 north of Gardiner
in Park County. The project begins 13 miles north of Gardiner at
reference post 13.0 and extends north for 3.8 miles, ending near
reference post 16.8.

Proposed work includes installation of new
compliant guardrail. The purpose of the project is to replace the
guardrail through the canyon north of Gardiner.

The project is
tentatively scheduled for construction in 2021, depending on
completion of all project development activities and availability of
funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
