of Transportation Proposes Culvert Replacement Project on Interstate
MILES CITY — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would
like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to replace
an existing drainage culvert on Interstate Highway 94 approximately
13 miles northeast of Miles City. The project begins at reference
post 151.8 and extends northeasterly for 0.2 miles, ending at
reference post 152.0.
Proposed work includes the installation of two
new culverts, abandoning the existing culvert in place, and repairing
slope erosion. The purpose of the project is to ensure the continued
drainage of this site and maintain the integrity of the interstate
embankment at this location.
Construction is tentatively planned for
2018 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. New
right-of-way will be required. MDT staff will contact all potentially
affected landowners prior to performing survey work on their land.
Staff will again contact landowners prior to construction regarding
property acquisition and temporary construction permits.
