Beartooth Highway Road Clearing - 2013The Beartooth Highway is currently open for the season. Because of the high elevation on this mountain pass, travelers should check current weather and road conditions. Crews make every effort to keep the road plowed and open, however unpredictable weather conditions may cause temporary closures throughout the summer. Please check the road condition report for the most updated pass conditions. MDT is responsible for the highway to the Montana/Wyoming border, where the National Park Service takes over maintenance responsibilities through Wyoming, back into Montana and into Yellowstone Park. MDT and NPS coordinate closely in keeping the road open throughout the summer. The videos and photos show MDT working to open the pass for the 2013 summer season. |
