New Pedestrian/Bicyclist Gate

S-282/X-22925 (the frontage road between Clancy and Jefferson City) is a popular road for cycling due to the road's flat terrain, limited traffic, and rural nature. Following the completion of the South Helena interchange in 2008, the frontage road became increasingly popular for cyclists due to the direct connection to the City of Helena via Colonial Drive.

Because there are no public restrooms on S-282/X-22925 between Montana City and Jefferson City MDT recently installed a gate from the frontage road between Clancy and Jefferson City into the rest area that is located on I-15.

pedestrian gate

This gate through the fence allows cyclists and runners using the frontage road to access the rest rooms, picnic tables, and grassy areas at the rest area.
