TO 6 AM MDT WEDNESDAY...

* IMPACTS...Dangerous crosswinds on Highway 191 from Harlowton 
  to Judith Gap. 

* TIMING...Southwest to west winds will become strong this 
  afternoon and continue tonight. Highest gusts are expected 
  this evening. 

* WINDS...Gusts 55 to 60 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds of these magnitudes can cause property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution and consider alternate routes.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous crosswinds along Interstate 90 from 
  Livingston to Big Timber and along local roads near Nye. 

* TIMING...Winds will increase through the morning and become 
  quite strong this afternoon and continue tonight. The strongest 
  winds are expected to be this afternoon and evening. 

* WINDS...Gusts 55 to 65 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM MDT
WEDNESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT
Wednesday. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS...West 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* TIMING...This evening through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Travel will be difficult...especially for high profile vehicles
  on US 191 and Montana Highway 66.
  

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MDT WEDNESDAY
FOR FORT PECK LAKE...

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph today becoming west 20 to 30 mph
  with gusts up to 45 mph this evening.

* TIMING...Through Wednesday morning. Winds will increase during
  the day today. The strongest winds will occur this evening and
  late tonight.

* IMPACTS...These winds will make open waters of the lake rough 
  and hazardous, and may result in high waves which may tip or 
  swamp smaller craft. 


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should use extreme caution if venturing onto Fort Peck
Lake. For your personal safety, avoid the open waters. Stay close
to shore or around protected areas.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* Impacts/Timing: Winds in northwest Montana will increase during
  Tuesday afternoon and are expected to peak during the late
  afternoon and evening. These winds will cause some tree damage,
  difficult driving conditions and large waves on area lakes.
  Falling trees will be particularly hazardous in recent burn 
  scars.
  

* Winds: West 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 45 mph in the 
  valleys. Gusts in excess of 50 mph in the higher terrain. 

* Locations impacted include: Highway 2 Kalispell to Libby, 
  Highway 37 Eureka to Libby, Highway 56 Bull Lake Road, Highway 
  93 Eureka to Whitefish, Bad Rock Canyon, Essex, Highway 83 
  Bigfork to Swan Lake, Marias Pass, Polebridge, Flathead Lake, 
  Flathead Valley, Mission Valley, and Polson

  some tree damage, and difficult driving conditions. Falling
