Traffic Control Update
During construction, motorists traveling through the project area can expect a 12-foot width restriction, reduced speeds, single lane traffic, and possible delays.
All wide loads should coordinate alternate routes with Motor Carrier Services at 406-444-7262.
Project Overview
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner, KH Civil Contractors Inc., have begun construction on the MT 200 Shoulder & Slope Improvements project which is expected to continue through summer 2025, depending on weather and other unforeseen factors.
This project will improve two curves on US Highway 87 (US 87)/Montana Highway 200 (MT 200) near mile marker 94, east of the intersection with Stillman Road, and near mile marker 97, east of the intersection with Gilt Edge Road, between Lewistown and Grass Range. Project improvements include:
- Widening shoulders to 8-feet
- Flattening roadside slopes
- Installing curve warning arrows for both curves
Motorists can expect reduced speeds, a pilot car in place to guide on direction of traffic through the work zone at a time, and possible delays when traveling through the project area.
