Civil Engineering Specialist

This position is an Environmental/Civil Engineer Specialist in the Engineering Section of the Environmental Services Bureau. The position is commonly referred to as an Environmental Project Development Engineer (PDE). Motor Vehicle Safety Inspector

This position performs motor carrier and HM Shipper (Hazardous Material Shippers) compliance reviews and safety audits in accordance with state and federal law including, commercial vehicle inspections, equipment checks and verification of driver documentation through random selection, by direct observation, and testing. This includes review of commercial motor carrier payroll, worker’s compensation, employee drug testing, and other employment records; and examination of driver and carrier records for accurate entries. Materials Fabrication Inspector

Montana Department of Transportation in the Billings District is currently recruiting for a Materials Fabrication Inspector. The Billings District Materials Fabrication Inspector is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and conducting materials inspection, sampling, and analysis activities associated with statewide construction projects. The incumbent must analyze plant quality control procedures, confirm test results, and act as the District expert to identify any corrective actions required then act as the lead in analysis of proposed corrective actions, and recommend plant certification, product acceptance, or rejection upon findings.
