Weigh in on Proposed Projects - Draft 2024-2028 STIP Available for Review

May 15, 2024

Share your comments on proposed transportation projects across Montana using MDT's online tool! As of May 15th, the draft 2024-2028 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is available for review and public comment.

The STIP is the list of projects planned for Montana for the next five years. It includes aeronautic, rail, highway, public transportation, non-motorized, and Federal Lands Highway Program projects that preserve and improve Montana's transportation system. The STIP is developed through coordinated efforts of MDT, state and federal agencies, local and tribal governments, metropolitan planning organizations, public agencies, transportation providers, citizens, and other interested parties.

The execution of this program is contingent on many factors including federal and state funding availability, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocations, environmental review, surveying, and design. Complications with one or more of these factors may delay a project.
