Project Overview

The East Valley Center Road and Baxter Lane project is nearing completion of pavement preservation activities on two urban routes in Bozeman. The project includes applying a seal and cover (chip seal) and updated pavement markings. The project on Baxter Lane begins at the intersection with North 7th Avenue and extends northwest approximately 1 mile to the junction with North 19th Avenue. The project on East Valley Center Road begins at the junction with North 19th Avenue and extends approximately 2 miles northwest to the intersection with Valley Spur Road. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the roadways, provide additional skid resistance, and take cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing roadways.

Chip seal activities are complete, and construction crews plan to return the week of September 9 to complete the final sweep and epoxy striping, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting. Access through the project area will be maintained but traffic control will be in place. Motorists can expect reduced speeds, flaggers, and rough roadway surfaces.
