Traffic Control Update:
- Minor concrete work is in progress to transition the new roadway surface to the storm drain facilities and sidewalks.
- Crews plan to start striping the roadway the week of November 11, weather and other factors permitting. Traffic control may include single-lane traffic, reduced speeds, and flaggers directing motorists. Please watch for workers throughout the project area and follow all posted signage.
Project Overview
The purpose of the Forsyth – East & West project is to rehabilitate about a two-mile section of Front Street, in Forsyth, between US Highway 12 (US 12) and 18th Avenue. Planned improvements include resurfacing the existing roadway, improving stormwater drainage, and enhancing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access. This project will ultimately provide a smoother driving surface while reducing maintenance costs.
Specific improvements will include:
- New surface on the existing roadway.
- New curb and gutter on the south side of Front Street.
- New stormwater system to drain water to the Yellowstone River, on the northeast side of Forsyth.
- ADA upgrades to sidewalk and curb ramps, as well as upgraded signage and pavement markings.
- New sidewalk to replace deteriorated sections.
- Road widening to include four-foot shoulders on the west end of the project area.
