  • Work is complete on Zone 2 and the US 2/Highway 93 intersection. Crews have transitioned to Zone 3 on US 93 S. Work will begin at Kelly Road and move north toward 1st Ave E. It is anticipated that this portion of the project will take approximately two weeks. This night work will occur on weekdays between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Pedestrians will be provided safe access through or around the work zone while construction is underway. If you have concerns about access to sidewalks while this work is completed, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

September 13-17, 2021

  • Final touch-ups, including patch work and landscaping, will be completed on Idaho Street between 2nd Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN the week of September 13. This will mark the end of work on Zone 2.
  • Construction continues at the intersection of Highway 93 and US 2. Crews will be working intermittently at each of the four intersection corners throughout the week. This night work will take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Following the Highway 93/US 2 intersection completion, work will transition to the remainder of Zone 3 between 1st Avenue East and Kelly Road. Pedestrians will be provided safe access through or around the work zone while construction is underway. September 6-10, 2021

  • Concrete work is complete on Zone 2, located on Idaho Street between 2nd Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN. Landscaping and other odds and ends for this section of the project will take place the week of September 6.
  • Construction has shifted to the intersection of Highway 93 and US 2. Demolition of the southwest, northwest, and northeast corners is complete. Concrete work on these three corners and demolition of the southeast corner will occur the week of September 6. This night work will take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Following the Highway 93/US 2 intersection completion, work will transition to the remainder of Zone 3 between 1st Avenue East and Kelly Road.
  • Work on this project will pause, Monday, September 6 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

August 30 – September 3, 2021

  • Zone 2 construction is wrapping up. Crews will be finishing concrete work on the north side of Idaho Street between 2nd Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN the week of August 30.
  • The project will shift to the northeast corner of Highway 93 and US 2 on Tuesday, August 31. Continuing for approximately two weeks, this night work will take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Following the Highway 93/US 2 intersection completion, work will transition to the remainder of Zone 3 between 1st Avenue East and Kelly Road.

  • Demolition of the sidewalk corners at the intersection of Idaho Street and 7th Avenue EN will take place the week of August 23. Crews will also be pouring concrete on the north side of Idaho Street between 2nd and 7th Avenue EN.
  • Work on Zone 3 is anticipated to begin the week of August 30 with construction at the intersection of US 93 and Idaho Street on street corners.

Some sidewalk closures will be necessary while demolition, grading, and concrete work takes place.   • Kalispell ADA construction continues on Idaho Street between 1st Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN.
  • Concrete pouring is complete on the south side of Idaho Street. Gravel is being placed between 6th Avenue and 1st Avenue EN between the hours of 7PM and 7AM. Full concrete work will begin the week of August 9.

  • Kalispell ADA construction continues on Zone 2 between 1st Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN between 7 PM and 7 AM. Demolition work on the south side of Idaho Street is anticipated to be complete on July 23. Drivers can expect single-lane closures in the construction zone while this work is completed.
  • Crews are taking care of some finishing touches in Zone 1. Patchwork and landscaping in various areas should be complete by July 23 and any remaining work in Zone 1 is anticipated for completion by the end of July.

  • Work is wrapping up on Zone 1 of the Kalispell ADA project. This section of the project, located on Idaho Street between 1st Avenue WN and 8th Avenue WN, is anticipated to be completed by the end of next week. Some sidewalk closures remain in place on 8th Ave WN while repairs are completed.
  • Work has begun on the south side of Zone 2 between 1st Avenue EN and 7th Avenue EN. Demolition is taking place on several street corners on the corridor and concrete work is following closely behind. Night work will take place between 7 PM and 7 AM. Drivers can expect single-lane closures in the construction zone during while this work is completed.

  • To ensure that traffic moves efficiently and does not have to navigate workers over the holiday weekend, work this week will wrap up early at 7 AM on Friday, July 2. Workers will be back on-site Tuesday, July 6 at 7 PM. From our crew to yours, have a safe and enjoyable July 4th weekend.
  • Following the holiday, crews will be wrapping up Zone 1 work and beginning on Zone 2 around mid-week. Work on zone 2 is anticipated to begin on the south side of 1st Avenue East. Crews will begin with demolition of sidewalk corners. This night work will take place between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM. Drivers can expect reduced speeds and single-lane closures on the south side of East Idaho Street during nighttime hours while this work is conducted.
  • MDT reminds everyone to help us achieve Vision Zero, the goal of zero deals and zero serious injuries on Montana roadways, by driving safely. Unfortunately, as of May 2021, there have been 79 fatalities on our roads, compared to 37 for the same time frame in 2020. Remember the three S’s of work zone safety: speed, space and stress. Crews have largely wrapped up work on the north side of the street and are now demolishing sidewalk, pouring concrete, landscaping, and addressing irrigation needs on the south side of the street. This night work will take place between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM. Drivers can expect reduced speeds and single-lane closures on the south side of West Idaho Street during nighttime hours while this work is conducted.

  • Construction has begun on the Kalispell ADA project. Crews have started the process of saw cutting several street corners. As this work is weather dependent, the past week’s rain has caused some delays in construction. Saw cutting and preparation for demolition will continue into the coming week.
  • Like last week, nightwork will begin at 7 PM and continue until 7 AM. During active construction, a single-lane closure can be expected westbound on West Idaho Street. Intermittent nighttime closures are still possible on the north side of First, Second, Third, and Fifth Ave West as work is completed throughout the week.

  • Construction is beginning on the Kalispell ADA project. The Montana Department of Transportation, in conjunction with Knife River and WGM Group, will be updating several Kalispell street corners to meet current ADA standards.
  • Night work will begin this week on West Idaho Street between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM. Crews will be saw cutting at several street corners in preparation for demolition. During active construction, travelers can expect a single-lane closure westbound on West Idaho Street. Intermittent nighttime closures are possible on the north side of First, Second, Third, and Fifth Ave West as work is completed throughout the week.
