US 2 Rose Crossing to Glacier Airport logo

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. will continue milling and paving on U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) next week. Crews completed resurfacing work on the Motor Carrier Services (MCS) weigh station on Wednesday, July 2.

On Monday, July 7, crews will finish resurfacing the northbound driving lane and start milling and paving the southbound driving lane from the north end of the project area near Glacier Park International Airport.

No work is scheduled Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 in observance of Independence Day.

What to expect during construction:

  • One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
  • Speed limits will be reduced.
  • Work may take place 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work may be approved by the project manager on a case-by-case basis if requested by the contractor.
  • Rose Crossing and Birch Grove Road intersections will be closed to east/west traffic for up to a 5-day period. These closures will not occur simultaneously, and a detour will be posted during the closures.
  • Wide loads may be restricted at times.
  • Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

For the safety of workers, MDT asks that motorists slow down, use caution, and be aware when traveling through the project area.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. are continuing milling and paving work on U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) between Rose Crossing and the Glacier Park International Airport next week.

The week of June 30, crews anticipate pouring concrete for curb work at the Rose Crossing intersection. This is expected to take a few days to complete and during that time the sidewalks will be closed at this intersection.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. began work on the US 2 Rose Crossing to Glacier Airport project this week, doing minor sidewalk and electrical upgrade work at the Rose Crossing intersection.

Beginning June 23, crews will mill and pave the driving lanes of U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) within the project limits. Crews plan to begin south of Rose Crossing and move north toward the Glacier Park International Airport.
