The study area for the feasibility study was focused on the section of US 93 between Gunlock Road (RP 40.0) and Brooke Lane (RP 44.5), referred to as the Ninepipe corridor. This stretch of highway is located in Lake County, Montana, between St. Ignatius and Ronan on the Flathead Indian Reservation and passes through the Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge and Ninepipe Wildlife Management Area.
