The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Knife River are rehabilitating approximately 2 miles of US 93 north of Reserve Drive in Kalispell. The project area begins at the intersection of US 93 and Reserve Drive and extends north 2 miles.
Planned improvements include:
- Resurfaced roadway.
- Chip seal, cover, and fog seal.
- New pavement markings.
- New signage.
- Upgraded guardrail.
- Shoulder rumble strips.
- Updated barrier ends on Stillwater River bridge.
Why is the project needed?
This is a preventative maintenance project that will preserve the existing pavement and extend the service life of the existing asphalt surfacing. Additionally, this project will enhance safety and provide a smoother driving surface for motorists.
