The National Weather Service in Great Falls has extended the

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for...

  Snowmelt in...

  Northwestern Blaine County in north central Montana...

  Northeastern Hill County in north central Montana...

* Until 845 PM MDT Friday.

* At 805 PM MDT, gauge reports continue to indicate that snowmelt 

  out of the Cypress Hills in Canada are causing small streams to 

  run high, including portions of Lodge Creek and Battle Creek. This 

  may cause minor small stream flooding in the advisory area, 

  especially if water is overflowing poor drainage areas.

* Runoff from snowmelt will cause minor flooding of small creeks and 

  streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Chinook and Zurich.

* Any water flowing onto roads may freeze overnight and cause icy 

  driving conditions.

* The latest forecasts indicate that creek levels should fall during 

  the day on Friday.


Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you 

can do so safely.
