On April 16, 2024, Montana’s Governor, Greg Gianforte, and widow of late Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Employee Jeff Dyekman, Melissa, joined Team MDT to dedicate a memorial honoring and recognizing those employees who have tragically lost their lives working to maintain and improve Montana’s highway system. The dedication took place during the 2024 National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) as Jeff, the last employee added to the memorial, was killed in a work zone.
