The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), in partnership with engineering design consultant Sanbell, is working to enhance safety features and improve accessibility at the intersection. Planned improvements include installing a new traffic signal; adding LED lighting at the intersection; widening Mill Street on the west side of the intersection to add a left-turn lane; and installing new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant ramps at the corners of Rabel Lane and US 191/Gallatin Road; adding a new pedestrian path along the north side of Mill Street from the underpass trail to the existing school crossing.
