I-15 from the I-90/I-15 Interchange, south to Buxton: Crews will complete terminal end anchor installation on Friday, September 20. Work will occur from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Terminal end anchors are where each end of a cable rail segment is bolted into the ground.

MDT and Coral Construction will resume work on the Butte area phase of the Median High-Tension Cable Rail project next week.
This construction season, crews plan to install cable rail along 18 miles of Interstate 15 (I-15), starting at the Buxton Interchange (mile marker 116) and extending north, ending on Butte Hill (mile marker 134). Work will occur on Interstate 90 (I-90) from the Anaconda Interchange (mile marker 219), extending east for 14 miles to the base of Homestake Pass (mile marker 230), ending two miles east of the Montana Highway 375 (MT 375) and Continental Drive Exit.
Work will begin with crews installing traffic control signs along I-90 and I-15, and grading select areas of the median along I-90 in preparation for anchor and line post installation.
Median and shoulder closures may be required where work is underway.

MDT anticipates minimal travel impacts. Motorists should expect minor delays, single-lane closures, and reduced speeds when passing through active work zones.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Coral Construction have paused work on the Median High-Tension Cable Rail project in the Butte area until spring.
Crews were able to complete terminal end anchor installation on Interstate 15 (I 15), north of the I 15 and Interstate 90 (I 90) Interchange this fall in preparation for the 2024 construction season.

The left lanes closest to the median on both sides of I 15 and I 90 will be closed where work is underway.

The Median High-Tension Cable Rail project will begin in the Butte area next week. Coral Construction crews will grade select areas in the median of Interstate 15 (I 15) and Interstate 90 (I 90).
Crews will be working on I 15 North, north of the I 15 North and I 90 Interchange, on Tuesday, October 10, and Wednesday, October 11, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Butte phase of the Median High-Tension Cable Rail project is anticipated to begin the week of October 9.
Coral Construction crews will be grading select areas in the median of Interstate 15 (I 15), north of the I 15 North and Interstate 90 (I 90) interchange, and I 90 on the east side of Butte.
More project details will be provided in next week's update.
Once construction begins, drivers should anticipate single-lane traffic and reduced speeds.
