New asphalt roadway with plant mix containing Ace fibers

The fiber used in plant mix asphalt is a wax coated aramid fiber that is advertised to improve resistance to cracking. The fibers are introduced to the asphalt plant mixing drum by a vacuum system at about the same time the asphalt binder is added to the aggregate. This ensures the wax melts and fibers are properly distributed through the mix. The chosen projects, listed below, are both in high traffic urban environments. The goal would be to see an extended life span of the mix with the addition of the fibers.
