Public Notice: UPDATE – The city water main that was disturbed during construction on June 12 has been repaired and the water boil advisory has been lifted. The CenturyLink fiber optic line has also been repaired.

June 21, 2024

  • Concrete demolition of curb and gutter on the south side of Front Street is in progress to prepare for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades.
  • Construction of new sidewalk sections and ADA improvements is expected to begin the week of June 24 and will be completed in three-block sections. This work is expected to take approximately one month to complete. Please watch for workers near the roadway. Business and pedestrian access will be maintained while this work is being completed.
  • Installation of the new underground storm drain system is in progress.
  • Roadway resurfacing is expected to begin in the coming weeks, weather and other factors permitting.

May 31, 2024

  • New stormwater facilities have been installed on Front Street including an underground storm drain between 4th Avenue and 12th Avenue and stormwater inlets on the south side of Front Street and adjacent streets.
  • Stormwater facilities are being installed at the outflow of the new drainage system on the east end of town. This work is progressing westward, toward 18th Avenue.
  • Riverside Contracting Inc. plans to begin resurfacing work in the coming weeks.
  • The gravel areas over the new storm drain are scheduled to be paved in conjunction with Front Street later this summer. Paving demands longer periods of warm weather for best quality and proper drying times.
  • Sidewalk and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades are expected to start at the end of June.

  • New stormwater facilities have been installed on Front Street including an underground storm drain between 4th Avenue and 12th Avenue and stormwater inlets on the south side of Front Street and adjacent streets.
  • Stormwater facilities are being installed at the outflow of the new drainage system on the east end of town. This work is progressing westward, toward 18th Avenue.
  • Riverside Contracting Inc. plans to begin resurfacing work at the end of May or early June. This project includes a resurfacing technique called pulverization which grinds up the existing asphalt so it can be reformed into a smooth surface during the paving process. The graphic below provides a visual representation of this.
  • The gravel areas over the new storm drain are scheduled to be paved in conjunction with Front Street later this summer. Paving demands prolonged periods of warm weather for optimal quality and proper drying times.
